I am extremely excited and honored to announce that, on October 28th, 2011, the GTF.CCC held an international conference in Boston at Harvard University whereby the long-awaited report, Closing the Cancer Divide: A Blueprint to Expand Access in Low and Middle Income Countries, was launched! Our goals for the conference were to present the GTF.CCC report and its findings, to develop a road-map for action on cancer care and control, and to implement report recommendations through multi-stakeholder engagement. We felt that this event would be particularly timely as it followed on the strategies from the UN High-level Meeting on Prevention and Control of Non-communicable Diseases (September 19-20, 2011). Click here to download and read the report. Thank you to everyone for their dedicated, persistent and continued efforts to further diminishing the global cancer divide!
Hi Felicia,
ReplyDeleteI was casually trawling thru the HGI pages - i think your work on public health deserves praise. Your passion and commitment is very evident.
However, being India born, i am surprised that you are not focusing at all on the linkage between population growth and poor public health, or between corruption/fiscal profligacy and poor public health. Dont you think these are closely correlated?
is it due to the influence of Mr Amartya Sen, who descends on India every winter to pontificate on sundry matters and hobnob with politicians and bureaucrats ( including showering praise on Maoist killers ), never utters a word against corruption or population growth and has bestowed credibility and support to the 'poverty industry'?
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI have a question about your blog. Please email me!
Thanks,
David
